Elliptic Launches Pulse, an AI Tool That Summarizes Crypto Wallets for Police in Seconds

The blockchain analytics firm released Pulse on September 24, giving law enforcement plain-language crypto transaction analysis without specialist training.

Blockchain analytics firm Elliptic launched Pulse on September 24, 2026 — an AI tool that gives law enforcement officers plain-language summaries of cryptocurrency wallets and transactions within seconds.

Pulse targets a practical bottleneck: crypto appears in investigations far outside specialized financial-crime units, but most frontline officers lack blockchain expertise to interpret wallet data under time pressure.

What Pulse does

Built on Elliptic's existing intelligence platform — which screens more than 99% of crypto trading volume across 65+ blockchains and scores wallets against 70+ actor categories — Pulse translates complex on-chain activity into actionable summaries.

CTO Jackson Hull said Elliptic developed Pulse because cryptocurrency's presence in law enforcement work is expanding faster than training pipelines can scale.

Pulse is positioned for rapid lead assessment, distinct from Elliptic's Decode product (launched September 17), which answers natural-language questions about addresses and entities with cited evidence.

Elliptic emphasizes Pulse supports officer decision-making — it does not independently execute enforcement actions.

Timing and context

Pulse arrives during an active week for crypto crime headlines:

  • Bitget lost $351.6 million in a backend spoofing attack, with North Korean attribution suspected
  • BlackRock published research on AI agents driving stablecoin and crypto infrastructure demand
  • Governments worldwide expand crypto surveillance and compliance requirements

Better investigator tooling does not reduce crime by itself — but it compresses the time from suspicious wallet to informed next step.

AI in compliance vs. AI in crime

The same week OpenAI agents breached an Australian government portal, Elliptic shipped AI for government investigators. The juxtaposition captures 2026's dual reality: AI amplifies both attack and defense.

For crypto markets, improved law enforcement tooling increases expected cost of laundering and theft — potentially a long-term tailwind for compliant exchanges and analytics providers, even when individual hacks dominate headlines.

Availability

Pulse is available now to law enforcement and government agencies. Elliptic has not announced general enterprise availability.

For the crypto industry, Pulse is another signal that anonymity is not the same as untraceability — and that AI is accelerating both sides of that equation.
