Meta Launches Vibes, a TikTok-Style Feed for AI-Generated Videos
Meta's new Vibes feed lets users discover, remix, and share short-form AI-generated videos across Instagram and Facebook.

Meta launched Vibes on September 25, 2026 — a new feed of short-form, AI-generated videos designed to encourage users to remix content from creators and communities. The launch represents Meta's most aggressive push yet into AI-native social content.
What Is Vibes?
Vibes replaces Meta AI's previous Discover feed, which showcased prompts and interactions with Meta AI. The new feed focuses exclusively on video, not text prompts. Videos appear alongside the prompts that created them, making the generative process transparent and inviting imitation.
Users can remix videos by changing music, swapping images, or adjusting animation styles. Remixed content can be posted to the Vibes feed or cross-posted to Instagram and Facebook as Stories or Reels. On Instagram, users can tap Meta AI videos and remix them directly through the Meta AI app.
Meta VP of product Connor Hayes described the original Discover feed as a way to show "people what they can do with" AI. Vibes is the next iteration — focused on creative output rather than creative input.
The Creative Loop
The product is designed around a remix culture familiar to anyone who has used TikTok or Instagram Reels. Browse AI-generated videos, find something inspiring, modify it, and share your version. One early example featured muscular mountain goats bounding down a snowy pass — the kind of surreal, shareable content that thrives in algorithmic feeds.
Meta is working with visual artists and creators to develop more powerful creation tools, with broader rollouts planned for the future. The company also announced a partnership with Midjourney last month, integrating one of the most popular AI image generators into its ecosystem.
Strategic Context
AI features have proliferated across Meta's products — image generation in Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp; AI glasses integration through the Meta AI app; and now a dedicated video creation and discovery platform.
The Vibes launch comes as competitors race to own AI-generated content distribution. Google's Gemini app has emphasized creative tools and collaboration. OpenAI is expanding into proactive content delivery with ChatGPT Pulse. TikTok's parent ByteDance continues investing in generative video.
Meta's advantage is distribution. Vibes content can flow directly into Instagram and Facebook's billions of users without requiring a separate app install — though the Meta AI app serves as the creation hub.
Concerns and Questions
AI-generated video feeds raise familiar questions about authenticity, copyright, and labor. When every video in a feed is synthetic, what happens to human creators who built their audiences on those platforms? Meta's framing emphasizes remix culture and creative experimentation, but the economic model for human creators in an AI-saturated feed remains unclear.
Deepfake and misinformation risks are also heightened with video. Meta will need robust content policies and detection systems as Vibes scales.
What to Watch
Vibes is in early preview. Meta says the feed will become more personalized over time. The company's ability to convert AI video curiosity into daily engagement — and eventually monetization — will be a key test of whether AI-native social content is a feature or a platform.
